Why You Should Be Careful with Browser Autofill

How Autofill Works

Autofill stores information such as:

• Names and addresses
• Email details
• Payment card information

This data can be automatically inserted into forms on websites.

The Risks

If you enter information on a fraudulent website, autofill may:

• Populate sensitive details automatically
• Share more information than intended
• Make it easier for scammers to collect your data

How to Stay Safe

Avoid saving sensitive information in browsers
Especially payment details.

Double-check websites before entering data
Ensure you are on a legitimate site.

Disable autofill for financial information
Limit what your browser stores.

Clear stored data regularly
Reduce exposure if your device is compromised.

Stay in Control

Convenience should never come at the cost of security. Being selective about autofill can help protect your personal information.
